Apr. 12th, 2009 12:16 amI have taken up crocheting again. I did it a lot when i was younger, about 8 or so, but stopped doing it.
Honestly, this is much better than knitting. I could never get the hang of knitting, but with crocheting, it's been MUCH easier and I'm now making a granny square afghan throw for the couch - alternating deep blues with mint and light greens. I plan on making a larger version for the bed in the bedroom of burgundy and possibly hot pink or light pink, I'm not sure yet. I want to eventually get to the point to where I can make filet crochet and make some lace curtains for the windows.
I really like having a yarn store close by, but man, sometimes the yarn is more expensive than what i would pay for a non-handmade idem of the same quality. Though I will say, I like having something to do with my hands when I'm bored. It also helps my dexterity while cutting and styling hair, if you can believe that.
I will take pictures when it's done. I am starting to get more and more into recycled crafts and decor. You can do a lot with just a little artistic talent. :) But you won't find me EVER scrapbooking - ugh, yuck.
