So, we wound up going to Ray's Boathouse last night. I had some big ass crab legs and he had this amazingly delicious sablefish and salmon trio. The scallop appetizer was very yum, and for some reason, we got a free appetizer of smoked salmon. It was very pretty, on the waterfront, big windows and we were sitting facing the windows. It was too cloudy for a sunset, but there were beautiful breaks in the clouds and you could see the mountains in the distance.

The wine steward commented on how nice it was to see people in Seattle dress up - I guess it's a lot like Austin here. I always saw people in Uchi wearing baseball caps and shorts and stuff - while paying $200+ for their meal. Why not dress up? It's fun! People used to do that all the time back in the day, they even got dressed up to go to the movies.

Anyway, we we got back from the food, we had some of the absinthe. I liked it a LOT, the anise taste wasn't overwhelming and the wormwood left a nice finish. The louching wasn't as pretty as I've seen, it was a little muddy, but overall, the bottle was well worth the price. It was interesting though, I always get into a weird dreamy head space when i drink absinthe.

I woke up pretty hung over and still a wee bit drunk this morning. :)

Honestly, it was a great night. I haven't had a month this happy in I don't know how long. We have yet to even have a fight - or even a strong discussion. I really can't get enough of him and I have a feeling he feels the same. :)
